Stafford Bridge – part of the Surelock McGill Group - is a market leader in the design, manufacture, and installation of high-performance timber and composite door sets, walls, windows, and louvres. We provide multi-accredited protection against physical attack, blast, ballistic, fire containment and life safety egress systems.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic site Installation Engineers to join our team. The Role will entail fitting Security fire doors, modular walling, windows, and security grilles at customer sites across the UK and Northern Ireland.

Reporting to our Installation Managers, you and your colleagues will deliver first-class installation services developing best fit installations within high security sites across the UK.

We offer full training on the installation of all our product range of doors, walls and louvre systems, along with other group company products.

 

Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day delivery of full installation of various security and protection systems across the UK, including staying away from home when working on client sites.
  • Timely and accurate reporting and feedback of installation progress to appropriate parties
  • Ensuring accurate completion and return of documentation upon installation completion and sign off
  • Proactively building close working relationships with your team and customers enabling best service
  • Maintaining standards of technical excellence within the department
  • Undertake in house training and any relevant safety training.

 

Desirable skills

  • A current CSCS card or suitable qualification to be eligible for same
  • Competence with use of handheld portable power tools and hand tools.
  • Eye for detail
  • Electro, mechanical or construction trade background (carpentry, steel erection or similar) desirable but not essential
  • Experience using mobile plant such as Glazing Robots, MEWP’s.

  • Be trustworthy and discreet due to the nature of the locations we work.
  • Be physically fit due to the weights of our product’s, Manual handling equipment is provided however there are some situations where this cannot be implemented, and products must be manual moved in a safe manner.

 

Hours of work 

Our core hours are Monday – Friday 0830 – 1630.

However due to the nature of the role our fitters regularly complete hours outside of these core times (paid at time +1/2) and overnight stay away due to the location of works with accommodation & meals covered by Stafford bridge.

 

Further requirements of the role 

  • Applicant will require a full UK driving licence.
  • Following your 3-month probation you will be required to undergo SC security vetting.
  • Successful applicants will be required to undergo any required security vetting
